Peter Ward

Chartered Physiotherapist,
Clinical Director and Founder.

Peter graduated from UCD in 2005 and has worked in Beaumont Hospital since then. He has worked as a senior in the Care of the Older Persons services in a variety of settings including the Raheny Community Nursing Unit, St. Josephs Hospital, Beaumont Emergency Department as well as the acute wards. He is currently the Senior Physiotherapist on the Pathfinder team, a collaboration between Beaumont Hospital and the National Ambulance Service. He has completed MSc in Older Person Rehabilitation from UCC, graduating in 2018

Peter has a keen interest in frailty and the rehabilitation of balance and mobility in older people. He is also experienced in treating people post stroke, joint replacements and a wide variety of neurological conditions, such as Parkinsons Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

Peter is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is registered with CORU and he is covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance

Peter founded PW Physiotherapy in May 2012 and has continued to cover his duties in Beaumont Hospital. 



Phil Williams

Chartered Physiotherapist

Phil completed his undergraduate training in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2017 and has worked in several sites since then, including Beaumont Hospital since 2018. He has completed his rotations as a staff grade in multiple areas including Cardiorespiratory, Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedics and the Care of the Older Persons service. Most recently he has worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in the Care of the Older Persons service both in the Raheny Community Nursing Unit and St Joseph’s Day Hospital. He joined the team at PW Physiotherapy in February 2022.

Phil has a strong interest in frailty and the rehabilitation of older adults post-acute illness or suffering from gradual functional decline

Phil is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists, is registered with CORU and is covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance


Claire Smyth

Chartered Physiotherapist

Claire graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012 and has worked in a range of settings from acute, rehabilitation and community services.

Claire currently works as a Senior Physiotherapist in Care of the Older Persons service in Beaumont Hospital but has also worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in Neurology, Complex Rehabilitation and Stroke in St. Vincent’s University Hospital. She began working with PW Physiotherapy in May 2022.

She has a keen interest in Gerontology and Neurological Physiotherapist and has been a committee member on the Chartered Physiotherapists in Gerontology and Neurology, a subgroup of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapist, most recently serving as chairperson of this group for 2021/22. She is also interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation, having completed training both in Ireland as well as an online diploma with the Audiology Vestibular International Science Academy.

Claire is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is also registered with CORU. She is covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance.
